What is wrong with this country?!?!

Recent headlines have had my head aching for all the issues hounding the country.  The investigations concerning Binay's ill-gotten wealth, then there's this Jeffrey Laude's murder, The Jeepney strikes because of the ordinance of having a higher penalty fee for disobeying traffic laws, China's bullying the Philippines, and all the other things happening in our country that just seems to make everything worst.

The Hacienda Binay Issue

Ok fine, we don't know how you got wealthy all of a sudden, why you're still denying owning that huge Hacienda (when there are a lot of people who knows it's yours Mr. Binay and Antonio Tiu is not well known in the Chinese Business Community - Who the heck is he?) and why the Makati Building 2 looks like a low grade building after spending a whole lot of tax payers money on it.  But seriously???  Our country is suffering because of corruption!  This has to stop!!!  Stop being so greedy and come clean. It's time that our politicians and those people in power to finally be honest and return the money our country so badly need to improve it.  Hindi ba kayo nahihiya na nabubulok na ang bansa natin at karamihan sa mga mammalian ay naghihirap???

Proper Use of PDAF

PDAF is not entirely bad.  We need funds for development, we need improvement in some communities and with the money, I believe we can do great things and make our country better.  Removing the PDAF will deteriorate our country.  There will be less developments and knowing our country is often hit with natural calamities, the Fund will serve our people well.  BUT NOT THE POCKETS OF OUR POLITICIANS! We need better accounting, to make sure everything is transparent, the information will be available to the people and whoever is using the funds will be accounted for.  The PDAF is not your personal ATM my dear greedy sleazy senators and congressmen.  These are the taxpayer's money.  We pay 32% of our income to make our country better.

On Jeffrey Laude and Susselback

I do admit, I cannot feel any sympathy towards a man who is unknown to me.  It will be odd to be force to attend his funeral as well.  I can relate to what the President said.  Jeffrey may have been a transgender, that is his choice, he may have gone out to have some fun and drinks and flirt with other guys (despite knowing he is a guy and he is also in a relationship), that is also his choice.  He may have led a life I do not agree with.  But is it truly an issue that should be making a big fuss?  His going out was his own choice.  It could've also be the reason of his demise after going for hot blooded male whom I'm sure wold looking for females rather than a transgender.  Unfortunately not everyone is open to unnatural relations.  There are consequences in making those choices.  And sometimes those consequences leads to death.  The murderer must pay the price of taking a life.  Yes that is true.   But the laws need to be respected and this is not about rights.  The military laws are different from civilian laws.  US Military also have a different set of laws.  Susselback had no right to shove a military personnel since it is a military base and he's an alien on Philippine soil.  Sorry our hospitality should not extend to visitors with undesirable conduct.  Our country may be rougher and less civilized compared to his, but that didn't give him the right.  Honestly, the military does have the right to shoot them (Susselback and the sister) after trespassing their camp.

Jeepney Strikes and all the traffic problems

I believe our country needs harsher or higher punishment for violation of traffic laws.  We are too undisciplined when it comes to the roads.  Even the pedestrians don't even care.  We don't even have a proper and reliable public transportation system.  Our MMDA is totally useless and of course bribery is widely practiced.  The jeepneys and the buses are a PAIN when it comes to driving around the Metro.  The taxis are also ruthless.  Traffic is AWFUL everywhere and the government can't solve this issue for more than two decades.  When I heard the news that the jeepney drivers are holding a strikes because the traffic authority is increasing the penalty fee for traffic violations, all I wanted to say is "Hooray!" Yes!  Increase the penalty fees for violation of traffic laws. Finally someone smart realized we need our drivers to be disciplined.  We all need discipline. There's too many accidents, too many traffic violators that need to learn to adhere to proper traffic laws.  I couldn't care less if you are complaining because your profit from driving the jeepney is small then increasing the penalty is going to eat up your money.  In the first place, you shouldn't be violating the law.

Put a higher fine for violators - jay walkers, bus drivers, jeepneys drivers, even private vehicle drivers.  Put those traffic enforcers who accepts bribes to jail.  Just that we know that it will make our road systems better.  Better yet, not only traffic violations but on criminal law too.  Bring back death penalty and no pardons for the politicians who are found guilty on corruption... Perhaps that will scare them to get their acts straight.

Port Congestion with a Big Thank You to the Brilliant Mind

Estrada, namely the former president, should be synonymous to "What the hell were you thinking???"  The issue with the truck ban has caused a lot of problems in the business community, one for the fact that supplies are stuck in the Port of Manila.  The Port is congested as it is already and even with some containers are supplies for the Yolanda victims...  I get it, it's traffic, but there are better ideas than putting the whole city in a truck ban where everyone is getting their supplies.  Now the containers are all stuck at the port, I'm sure some supplies are getting spoiled.  Costs now are inflating due to demand and with the supplies still stuck at customs.  Most people who rely on imports have their business suffering.  Brilliant just brilliant.  And remind me again how you won the elections?  Oh yeah right, because you're in for the mass - those who don't pay taxes and gives you their vote for a small amount of cash you hand them and because you're a movie star.  I hope the senate will pass the bill about who are those allowed to vote.

China on bullying

I am not proud of being Chinese in regards to this issue.  China knows they can bully the smaller Asian countries because of their current strength.  And if it's true that the US won't be able to do anything to help if our country goes to war, then we'd better pray that China will stop.  Our country is troubled as it is already.  We don't need a bully to push our country to the brink of destruction.  Your own greediness will be your downfall, maybe not in our time but soon it will be.  There is NO HONOR in being the bully.  Being Chinese, we all know about honor don't we?  Or have the Chinese government forgot what our forefathers have taught us?

On the Lighter Note

I came back to our country hoping that there will be a better future.  I was amazed with the changes yet dismayed with our deterioration.  I believe our country is thriving.  It should be.  I believe that there is hope, there has to be.  And for all our troubles, we should stop all these nonsense and get back to what truly matters.  Our proclaimed faith is not in our actions.  Our sense of pride is slowly being shattered because we see ourselves pitiful.  WAKE UP PHILIPPINES! It's time to get our acts straight.  Time to rise and time to stop what needs to be stop.  We were once a beautiful and strong country.  Let's bring it back to where we should be.
